Brent Crude Jumps Past $90 a Barrel as Hormuz Closure Fears Mount

businessenergy-marketsoilpoliticsmaritimeworldmiddle-east 33 posts · 20 accounts

Brent crude oil futures rose more than 2% to surpass $90 a barrel for the first time since June 11, driven by intensified U.S. and Iranian attacks that have effectively shut the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran declared the shipping route remains blocked as long as 'U.S. malice' persists, while tracking data showed only four tankers crossed the strait on July 18 compared to 51 during the same date a year earlier.
