Adidas Beats Q1 Estimates as Tariffs and Currency Threaten €400 Million Profit Hit

businesscompany-earningspoliticstariffs 5 posts · 3 accounts

Adidas reported stronger-than-expected first-quarter results, with revenue of €6.59 billion and operating profit of €705 million exceeding estimates of €6.3 billion and €647 million, respectively. Net income from continuing operations was €484 million, also ahead of expectations, helped by strong momentum in the apparel division and healthy demand for football, running and training products.

The company maintained its forecast for full-year operating profit at about €2.3 billion, compared with an analyst estimate of €2.42 billion, and said higher U.S. tariffs and adverse currency developments are expected to reduce full-year operating profit by about €400 million. Adidas also said sales declined in several Middle East markets as a result of the conflict.
