China Crude Imports Rise to 7.8 Million Barrels a Day in July From 6.2 Million Barrel June Low
China’s July crude imports are expected to average 7.8 million barrels a day, climbing from a June daily rate of 6.2 million barrels that set the lowest level since November 2015, according to preliminary figures from data analytics firm Kpler.
The rebound follows faster flows through the Strait of Hormuz and increased purchases of Russian oil by Chinese refiners. Despite the monthly increase, demand is projected to remain more than 1 million barrels a day below 2025 volumes, keeping imports well under pre-war purchasing rates.
