ShinyHunters Extortion Gang Claims Data Breach at Ernst & Young, RingCentral and BH Security
The ShinyHunters extortion gang claims it breached data at Ernst & Young, RingCentral and BH Security, listing the three companies as its latest targets. The group, known for stealing and leaking corporate files, has posted proof of the intrusion on dark web forums to pressure the firms into paying ransom.
A member of the group confirmed the acquisition in a public exchange, replying “Yes it was us” when asked for details. Ernst & Young provides global audit and consulting services, while RingCentral and BH Security offer cloud communications and professionally monitored home security solutions, respectively. The gang’s claims have not yet been independently verified by the affected companies or cybersecurity researchers.
