Quanta, Wistron and Inventec are committing over $1.3 billion to expand AI server manufacturing capacity across Asia and North America, a media report shows. Quanta is paying NT$19.7 billion ($610 million) to buy an existing plant from AUO in northern Taiwan, opting to retrofit the facility with a clean room rather than construct a new building.

Wistron is spending $121 million on land in California, while Inventec will invest NT$18.13 billion to develop capacity in Taiwan, Texas and Thailand. The coordinated expansion underscores the steady growth in hardware production required to meet demand from cloud and technology firms.
