Nexus Data Centers In Talks To Borrow $15 Billion For 1.6 GW Texas AI Campus Backed By Google
Nexus Data Centers is in advanced talks to borrow $15 billion to build a 1.6 GW data center campus and natural gas power plant in Hubbard, Texas. A banking group led by Morgan Stanley will finance the facility, which Anthropic would lease for its artificial intelligence computing operations.
Google is expected to guarantee billions of dollars in lease and power purchase payments under the arrangement, securing a roughly 20% equity stake in the project. The campus will utilize tensor processing units co-designed with Broadcom, with the chip costs financed separately. The overall package includes a $14 billion bridge loan and a revolving credit facility.
