Galaxy Buys 500 Acres in McGregor, Texas, for New 74-MW AI Data Center
Galaxy has acquired 500 acres in McGregor, Texas, under a development agreement to build an artificial intelligence and high-performance computing data center campus. The initial phase will reach 74 MW of capacity, with expansion potential scaling to multi-hundred-megawatt levels through 2030.
The McGregor site marks the company’s second major Texas data center investment, building on its 1.6 GW Helios campus in Dickens County. Galaxy will fund its own substation and will assume full tax obligations starting immediately, adding at least $130 million to annual property tax revenues for the city. The project is expected to create hundreds of jobs in McLennan County.
