Microsoft Shares Jump 15%, Record Biggest Market Cap Gain in History on $450 Billion Rise

businesscompany-earningsstocksaiai-sector-impact 46 posts · 23 accounts

Microsoft stock rose more than 15% after reporting fourth-quarter earnings that beat analyst estimates, adding nearly $450 billion to its market value in the largest single-day gain in history. Azure cloud revenue grew 43% year-over-year, marking the fastest quarterly expansion since early 2022 and exceeding the average analyst forecast for a 40% increase.

The result gave the technology company its best trading session since October 2008, following a 6,501-day streak without a session gain of similar magnitude. Shares of Micron and Nvidia advanced as US futures rose and investors digested the report's forecast for accelerated computing demand.
