Nvidia Launches Vera Rubin AI Platform Delivering 10x Efficiency Gains, Challenging AMD and Intel
Nvidia launched its Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale AI supercomputer, introducing a new Vera central processing unit and co-packaged optics networking components that the company confirmed deliver 10x higher performance per watt than the previous Blackwell generation. The platform remains on schedule for deployment, with major cloud providers and AI developers already testing the hardware in their data centers.
The platform enters production with a new Vera central processing unit, setting up direct competition with Advanced Micro Devices and Intel in the AI server market. Nvidia also confirmed that its co-packaged optics networking switches have reached volume manufacturing, with initial deployments already underway across major cloud data centers.
