Qualcomm Raises Smartphone Chip Prices by Double-Digit Percentage as Foundry Costs Surge
Qualcomm has notified customers that prices for its smartphone processors will increase by a double-digit percentage, Bloomberg News reported. The chipmaker stated it can no longer absorb the rising expenses.
The pricing shift reflects higher foundry and memory costs that Qualcomm was previously able to offset. Industry analysis indicated broader supply chain expenses have already risen by roughly 22% on average, with major memory producers prioritizing higher-margin artificial intelligence products.
