U.S. Producer Prices Fall 0.3% in June as Annual PPI Slows to 5.5%
U.S. producer prices fell 0.3% in June from a month earlier, versus forecasts for no change, while annual PPI slowed to 5.5% from an expected 6.2%. Core PPI rose 0.2% on the month and 4.7% on the year, both below estimates.
It was the first monthly decline in PPI since August 2025 and the largest since April 2025, after a downwardly revised 0.6% increase in May. Nearly two-thirds of the 1.4% drop in final demand goods was due to gasoline, which fell 12%, while more than 60% of the increase in final demand services came from trade margins, which rose 0.4%.
