FDA Identifies Cyclospora in Taylor Farms Lettuce Sample, Triggering Walmart Pull and 27-State Recall
The FDA confirmed that a sample of iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms tested positive for cyclospora, providing direct laboratory evidence for an investigation into a parasite outbreak that has sickened over 4,300 people across more than 30 states.
Following the test results, the producer announced a recall of the affected product in 27 states, encompassing Marketside-brand items sold at Walmart. The retailer removed four bagged salad products on Friday as regulators work with state partners to determine whether additional products are involved. Health authorities have reported 94 hospitalizations and zero fatalities linked to the outbreak.
