SpaceX Shares Fall Below $135 IPO Price, Wiping Out $860 Billion in Market Value
SpaceX shares fell below their $135 initial public offering price, extending a decline that has erased more than $800 billion in market capitalization since a June 16 peak. The company, which made its Wall Street debut just over a month ago, now trades at a level where short sellers are holding roughly $3.9 billion in paper profits against about 181 million shares.
Short interest has climbed to 28% of the tradable float as the stock trades near the IPO price. The AI and space company's shares are down more than a third from their closing high, wiping out roughly $860 billion in market value.
