Moonshot Launches Kimi K3 With 2.8T Parameters, Sets Open Weights Release for July 27
Moonshot launched Kimi K3, a 2.8T parameter AI model with a 1M context window and native multimodal input, and said it will release the model’s open weights by July 27. Kimi K3 is live on Moonshot’s web products and API.
Third-party benchmark results released around the launch put Kimi K3 at No. 1 in Frontend Code Arena with 1,679 points, ahead of Claude Fable 5. Artificial Analysis gave the model a score of 57 on its Intelligence Index, behind Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol, while ValsAI ranked it No. 2 overall on its index. vLLM said it will support Kimi K3 at launch.
