Bitcoin Falls Below $58,000 as ETF Outflows Accelerate

cryptocrypto-markets 27 posts · 19 accounts

Bitcoin fell below $58,000 overnight, dropping to a 21-month low as heavy liquidations and prolonged exchange-traded fund outflows intensified pressure on the cryptocurrency. Leveraged long positions worth $270 million were liquidated over the past 24 hours, according to tracking data. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have sold $2.41 billion of the token over nine consecutive days, marking a sharp reversal from aggressive institutional buying near recent highs.

The selloff coincides with concerns over higher U.S. interest rates and the financing strategy of Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. The company authorized a potential $1.25 billion sale of its Bitcoin holdings this week as it restructures a financing model strained by the asset's prolonged decline. Monthly outflows from Bitcoin ETFs have exceeded $4.1 billion, putting the products on track for their largest monthly withdrawal since the January 2024 launch.
