US Bitcoin ETFs On Track for $4.1 Billion in Outflows
U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds are on pace for more than $4.1 billion in net outflows in June, marking the worst monthly withdrawal since their launch in January 2024. The sustained capital flight extends a streak of seven consecutive weekly outflows that first topped $3.56 billion in February 2025. The outflows reflect a broader correction in the cryptocurrency market, where Bitcoin has fallen more than 18% in June and traded near $60,000 before closing below its 200-week moving average for the first time since 2023.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, the largest U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF, accounted for $3.1 billion of the total outflows, leaving the remainder of the market's largest digital asset fund with its highest monthly withdrawal since inception. The drawdown has intensified pressure on Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, which authorized up to $1.25 billion in potential sales as it restructures a financing model strained by the asset's prolonged decline. Rising U.S. Treasury yields and a strengthening dollar have further weighed on risk assets, while sentiment indicators and options data from traders on Kalshi point to growing caution, with some forecasting Bitcoin could fall to $45,000 later this year.
