Saudi Arabia Nears First Crude Loadings at Ras Tanura Since Early March
Saudi Arabia is nearing a restart of crude loadings at Ras Tanura, its largest oil export terminal, with two very large crude carriers owned by Bahri moving toward the Ju’aymah offshore loading buoys and a third ship anchored nearby, according to vessel-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg. No crude loadings have been observed at the terminal since early March.
A return to activity at Ras Tanura would mark another step in the recovery of Gulf oil exports after months of disruption and reinforce expectations of higher global crude supply. Oil prices have already fallen back to prewar levels as tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz picked up and war-risk insurance premiums for ships using the waterway dropped sharply.
