Qualcomm in Talks to Buy AI Chip Startup Tenstorrent for $8 Billion to $10 Billion
Qualcomm has been in talks to acquire AI chip startup Tenstorrent for $8 billion to $10 billion, according to a report from The Information. That range would represent a substantial premium to the roughly $3.2 billion valuation Tenstorrent discussed in fundraising talks last November.
Tenstorrent develops RISC-V AI accelerators for data-center and edge inference and is led by chip designer Jim Keller. The company's last confirmed financing was a $693 million Series D in December 2024 at a $2.6 billion valuation, with later discussions centered on raising $800 million at about $3.2 billion.
