A 40-page 2026 white paper on Huawei's Ascend 950 NPU surfaced online this week, providing architecture details for the chip family. The document includes a main-specification table listing five models — two Ascend 950PR versions and three Ascend 950DT versions — along with chip, AI-core, SRAM and vector-core diagrams.

The material also describes cube-vector fusion and lists supported data formats for cube and vector operations, including MXFP4, FP8, BF16/FP16, TF32, FP32 and multiple integer formats.
