Israel maintained natural gas output and exports amid renewed attacks, a spokesperson said, after Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they had launched a missile attack on industrial facilities in Haifa in retaliation for Israel’s strike on the Karun petrochemical complex in Mahshahr in southwestern Iran.
The exchange has widened a confrontation that Israel had initially described as strikes on military targets in western and central Iran after an Iranian missile attack. Israel later said it struck several targets at the Mahshahr petrochemical complex, while the Guards warned that any further expansion of the conflict could affect energy targets across the region and have consequences for the global economy.
