Nvidia Clinches South Korea AI Deals, Led by Multiyear SK Hynix Memory Pact

Nvidia announced a series of partnerships in South Korea during Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang’s Seoul visit, centered on a multiyear agreement with SK Hynix to develop next-generation memory for AI factories and accelerate semiconductor design and manufacturing. The company also said Naver will use Nvidia technology for data centers and AI factories, while Nvidia is working with LG on humanoid robots and data centers.

The deals deepen Nvidia’s ties to South Korean suppliers and customers as it seeks crucial memory chips for its AI systems and broader demand for them. Huang also met Samsung chip chief Jun Young-hyun to discuss HBM4, HBM4E, HBM5 and foundry work, and said partnerships with SK Hynix and SK Telecom could bring hundreds of billions of dollars of business to South Korea; he has separately warned supply bottlenecks from wafers to packaging and silicon photonics could last for years.
