Lotte Energy Materials Begins Supplying AI Circuit Foil for Nvidia GPUs, Plans 16,000 Tons Next Year
Lotte Energy Materials will begin full-scale shipments of AI circuit foil for Nvidia's next-generation GPUs this month from its Iksan plant, after moving up the start from the second half of the year at Nvidia's request. The ultra-thin material is used in AI accelerators and sells for three to four times more than conventional copper foil for electric-vehicle batteries.
The launch underscores Lotte's shift away from EV-battery copper foil toward AI materials. Only Mitsui Mining & Smelting, Lotte and Solus Advanced Materials were identified as capable of mass-producing AI circuit foil, and Lotte plans to expand capacity to 16,000 tons next year from 3,700 tons this year as Doosan Electro Materials BG and Isu Petasys ramp related supplies to Nvidia this month. Lotte shares closed 14.62% higher at 64,300 won.
