Bitcoin Falls Below $61,000 as Ether Hits Lowest Since April 2025
Bitcoin fell below $61,000, leaving it down about $18,000 over 10 days, while Ether dropped 5.8% to about $1,669, its lowest level since April 2025. The move included a roughly $2,000 slide in an hour that triggered more than $280 million of long liquidations.
The decline left cryptocurrencies headed for a sixth straight day of losses as sentiment was hurt by Middle East tensions, expectations of higher US rates and ETF outflows. Ether was down about 30% over the past month, and the broader crypto market had fallen nearly 15% over five days.
