Bitcoin Falls Below $66,000 as Crypto Long Liquidations Top $1.5 Billion
Bitcoin fell below $66,000 early Tuesday, extending a selloff that took the token from about $71,000 to under $66,000, a drop of 6.9% on the day. The broader downturn triggered about $1.5 billion of crypto-long liquidations over the past 24 hours.
The latest slide deepens a retreat that had already pushed Bitcoin below $68,000 amid persistent selling from US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds. Cumulative outflows from those funds had reached $3.45 billion over 11 consecutive trading sessions, erasing year-to-date net inflows and weakening one of the market's main demand drivers.
