Russia Bans Jet Fuel Exports Until End-November to Prevent Shortages as Ukraine Hits Russian Refineries
Russia has banned jet fuel exports until the end of November to prevent shortages at home after Ukraine intensified attacks on Russian refineries. The move follows a widening Ukrainian drone campaign that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said recently hit an oil refinery in Saratov, about 700 kilometers from the front line, and other targets up to 1,200 kilometers from the border.
The Institute for the Study of War said Kyiv’s mid-range strike campaign has disrupted Russian logistics from occupied Luhansk to Crimea. Recent reports described strikes on trucks on the R-280 highway, an ammunition-carrying cargo ship at Berdyansk port and road mining along key supply routes, while Russian military bloggers described fuel shortages in Crimea, including reported 20-liter purchase limits at gas stations.
