Saylor Attributes $4.4 Billion in Spot Bitcoin ETF Outflows to $400 Billion AI Buildout
Michael Saylor said roughly $400 billion directed to AI infrastructure over the past six months has pulled capital away from Bitcoin, arguing that about $4 billion of withdrawals from Bitcoin ETFs since May 14 reflect capital rotation rather than a problem with Bitcoin itself. The remarks add a new explanation to a slide that pushed spot Bitcoin ETF outflows to about $4.4 billion over 13 trading days and turned year-to-date flows negative again.
Bitcoin fell to a nearly four-month low of $61,311 before rebounding to around $62,580, while crypto-linked stocks also weakened. The retreat followed about $1.8 billion of leveraged crypto liquidations and occurred amid geopolitical tensions, though spot Bitcoin ETFs still show roughly $55 billion of lifetime net inflows even after 17 of the last 19 trading days posted withdrawals totaling almost $5.6 billion.
