RBNZ Sees Higher Cash Rate Ahead, Citing Inflation, Oil and Supply Chains
Reserve Bank of New Zealand Governor Breman said policymakers expect inflationary pressures ahead and agree the cash rate will need to move higher. He added that supply chains and oil prices are likely to have a bigger impact than what is assumed in the government budget.
Breman also said export-oriented firms are performing well, though they remain concerned about global uncertainty.
