Google Pushes AI Across Products, Launches Gemini 3.5 Flash at I/O
At its I/O conference, Google outlined a broader effort to embed AI across its products, emphasizing consumer and developer tools aimed at practical use. The company also launched Gemini 3.5 Flash, saying the model is generally available and delivers frontier-level performance at four times the speed of comparable frontier models, often at less than half the cost.
Google said Gemini app users have more than doubled in a year to surpass 900 million. It also said more than 3.2 quadrillion tokens are now processed each month across its surfaces, up from 480 trillion at last year's I/O.
