OpenAI Q1 Revenue Surges to $5.7 Billion, Weekly Active Users Average 905 Million
OpenAI generated about $5.7 billion in first-quarter revenue as Codex and ChatGPT subscriptions gained traction, according to The Information. The company averaged roughly 905 million weekly active users in the quarter, short of an earlier goal of reaching 1 billion users by the end of last year.
Anthropic’s growth accelerated so quickly that it may soon overtake OpenAI by revenue, the report said. Earlier reporting on the quarter said OpenAI’s revenue was nearly $1 billion higher than Anthropic’s in the same period.
