Anthropic Expands SpaceX Compute Deal at $1.25 Billion a Month, Sees First Operating Profit
Anthropic is expanding its partnership with SpaceX and will scale up GB200 capacity in Colossus 2 throughout June to support Claude inference. SpaceX disclosed that cloud-services agreements signed in May 2026 give Anthropic access to compute capacity across Colossus and Colossus II at $1.25 billion a month through May 2029, or about $45 billion over three years, with reduced fees during the May and June 2026 ramp and 90-day termination rights for either side.
The expansion comes as Anthropic told investors that second-quarter revenue is set to more than double to $10.9 billion from $4.8 billion in the first quarter and that it expects its first operating profit, projected at $559 million. That measure excludes stock-based compensation and may not hold for the full year as compute spending rises; Elon Musk said the deal shows SpaceX can offer AI compute as a service at significant scale and is in talks with other companies.
