UAE Calls OPEC, OPEC+ Exit a Sovereign Strategic Option, Not Political
The United Arab Emirates said a withdrawal from OPEC and OPEC+ would be a sovereign, strategic option based on national interests rather than political considerations, according to comments from the country’s energy minister.
The minister said the move should not be seen as evidence of divisions between the UAE and its partners, and rejected what he described as speculation or misleading narratives around the issue.
