Former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo said violence by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank reminded him of the Holocaust and made him ashamed to be Jewish after a tour examining settler violence in the territory.

Pardo, whose mother is a Holocaust survivor, said what he saw recalled events that happened in the last century. He was a major general in the Israeli army and led Mossad from 2011 to 2016.
