Euro-Area Inflation Expectations Jump to 4% in ECB Survey
Euro-area consumers sharply raised their inflation expectations in March, according to a European Central Bank survey, with one-year-ahead expectations climbing to 4.0% from 2.5% in February. Expectations three years ahead rose to 3.0% from 2.5%, while five-year expectations edged up to 2.4% from 2.3%.
The survey also showed a weaker view of the economy, with consumers seeing growth at -2.1% over the coming year, compared with -0.9% a month earlier.
