CENTCOM's Cooper Visits USS Tripoli After Briefing Trump on Iran
Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of US Central Command, visited the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7) in the Arabian Sea on Saturday, US Central Command said. Cooper met sailors and Marines, recognized top performers and toured parts of the ship, including its Combat Information Center, while the Tripoli was on task in the region.
The trip came two days after Cooper briefed President Donald Trump on possible military action against Iran. Marines aboard the Tripoli could play a role if Trump chooses some of the escalatory options Cooper outlined earlier this week.
