China Orders Meta to Unwind $2 Billion Manus Deal
China blocked Meta’s $2 billion acquisition of AI startup Manus on Monday, with the country’s top economic planning body ordering the parties to unwind the deal. The move followed a regulatory review into whether the transaction violated Beijing’s investment rules.
The months-old acquisition had drawn criticism in China over concerns about technology leakage to the US. Meta said it anticipates a resolution to the China probe of the Manus deal.
