tech 2 posts · 1 accounts

TSMC is accelerating its 2nm capacity ramp to meet big AI demand, according to a media report based on material from the company’s Tech Symposium last week. The report said five phases are expected to reach 2nm mass production this year, with 2nm output seen 45% higher than 3nm in its first year.

At Hsinchu Fab 20, phases 1 and 2 are already in mass production and equipment for phase 3 is due to move in during the third quarter. At Kaohsiung Fab 22, phase 1 is in mass production and phase 2 is expected to enter mass production in the fourth quarter. TSMC also plans nine new fab projects or plant conversions in each of 2025 and 2026, while A16, an N2 technology with Super Power Rail, is coming this year.
