Spain’s unemployment rate rose to 10.83% in the first quarter from 9.93% in the previous three months, climbing back above 10% as 170,300 jobs were lost. The government nevertheless kept its 2026 GDP growth target at 2.2%, with stronger-than-expected performance in recent years outweighing uncertainty stemming from the Iran war.
