GM Raises 2026 EBIT Outlook After First-Quarter EPS Beat
General Motors reported first-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $3.70, topping estimates of about $2.6, with revenue of $43.6 billion and adjusted EBIT of $4.3 billion. Net income attributable to stockholders was $2.627 billion, while North America adjusted EBIT was $3.661 billion and vehicle sales totaled 899,000 units.
The automaker raised its full-year adjusted EBIT guidance by $500 million to $13.5 billion to $15.5 billion, citing a favorable adjustment tied to a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on certain U.S. tariffs. GM also lifted its adjusted EPS outlook to $11.50 to $13.50, maintained adjusted automotive free cash flow guidance of $9 billion to $11 billion, and said it expects gross tariff costs of $2.5 billion to $3.5 billion in 2026.
