Rambus Falls After Revenue, EPS Miss Estimates

Rambus shares fell 12% in after-hours trading after the company reported first-quarter revenue of $180.2 million and non-GAAP diluted earnings per share of $0.63, both below expectations of $189.71 million and $0.64, respectively. Product revenue rose 15% from a year earlier to $88.0 million, while licensing billings were $70.8 million and cash from operations totaled $83.2 million.

For the second quarter, Rambus projected licensing billings of $76 million to $82 million, royalty revenue of $72 million to $78 million, product revenue of $95 million to $101 million, and contract and other revenue of $19 million to $25 million. Chief Executive Officer Luc Seraphin said growth in AI inference and agentic workloads in data centers continues to drive demand for higher memory bandwidth, efficient data movement and scalable connectivity.
