Trump Says EU Car and Truck Tariffs Will Rise to 25% Next Week
President Donald Trump said the US would raise tariffs on cars and trucks imported from the European Union to 25% next week, saying the bloc had failed to comply with an earlier trade deal. Trump said cars and trucks produced in US plants would not face the tariff.
The earlier pact, struck last summer, had capped US tariffs on EU autos and parts at 15%. Trump did not clarify how the higher tariff would be implemented.
