Big Tech Raises AI Spending Plans Toward $725 Billion

Amazon, Microsoft, Google and Meta have lifted or reaffirmed 2026 capital-spending plans to a combined $695 billion to $725 billion as they expand AI and data-center capacity. Amazon plans about $200 billion, Microsoft $190 billion, Google $180 billion to $190 billion and Meta $125 billion to $145 billion, with Google also signaling a further increase in 2027.

Investors broadly welcomed the earnings reports as demand for AI and data centers drove large jumps in revenue and profits. The four companies generated a combined $430.6 billion in quarterly revenue and each exceeded analyst estimates, while Google Cloud, Azure and AWS grew 63%, 40% and 28% year over year, respectively.
