Korea April Chip Exports Show DRAM Gains, SSD Surge
Preliminary April figures for Korea’s semiconductor exports showed DRAM at $9.25 billion, up 15% from March and 83% from the prior quarter. SSD exports reached $3.84 billion, rising 20% month on month and 181% quarter on quarter, while MCP totaled $8.16 billion, down 5% from March but up 67% from the prior quarter.
Other segments weakened on a monthly basis. DRAM module exports were $6.14 billion, down 17% from March but up 70% quarter on quarter, while NAND fell 34% from March to $1.67 billion, though still 17% above the prior quarter. A later update said DRAM prices were 26% higher than in March.
