U.S. Opens Claims for $166 Billion in Trump-Era Tariff Refunds
U.S. businesses can begin filing claims from April 20 for refunds of up to $166 billion in Trump-era tariffs after the Supreme Court ruled the duties, which had been imposed under emergency powers, unlawful. Claims are being submitted through a new Customs system.
More than 330,000 importers across 53 million shipments may be eligible. Approved claims are expected to be paid with interest within 60 to 90 days, though some filers reported technical and submission problems as the portal opened.
