China Fang Probe Pushes Financial Sector Anti-Corruption Tally Past 400
An investigation into former securities regulator Fang Xinghai has pushed the number of financial-sector officials and executives caught in China's anti-corruption campaign to more than 400 since 2021.
Fang was previously scheduled for an international posting that was rejected by Beijing, highlighting anxieties among some officials that the country's most capable personnel may prefer working abroad, and Fang has since disappeared from public view.
