Fox News Poll Shows Talarico Beating Paxton 51% To 48% In Texas Senate Race
A Fox News poll finds Democrat James Talarico beating Republican Ken Paxton 51% to 48% in the race for Texas’s 2026 U.S. Senate seat. The survey, fielded July 23 to 27 among registered voters, widens the margin from an earlier Fox News survey and follows a mid-July Texas Public Opinion Research poll showing Talarico ahead by 5 points.
The poll also shows a tighter governor’s contest, with Gov. Greg Abbott leading Democrat Gina Hinojosa by a single point, 50% to 49%. Favorable ratings in Texas record a positive 6-point net margin for Talarico, a plus 1 reading for Abbott and a negative 6-point rating for Paxton.
