FTX Pays $900 Million to Creditors in Fifth Bankruptcy Repayment Round
FTX began its fifth creditor distribution Friday, directing roughly $900 million to allowed claimants across the exchange’s bankruptcy estate.
The latest payment brings total repayments to nearly $10 billion since the platform collapsed in 2022. Most creditors will recover more than 100% of their original claims, with smaller accounts receiving up to 120%. U.S. and Dotcom customer claims will reach a cumulative 105% payout, though valuations are based on bankruptcy cash value rather than current cryptocurrency prices. Claimants have six months to complete onboarding with BitGo, Kraken, or Payoneer to receive the funds, or they risk forfeiting the distribution entirely.
