Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev Locks Down X Account After Fraudsters Bypass Security and Push Fake Token to 300,000 Users
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev said his X account was hijacked after a fraudster socially engineered customer support to bypass 2FA and login notifications, posting a promotion for a fake memecoin to more than 300,000 viewers.
Tenev noted that the password was not the vulnerability, pointing to weaknesses in the platform’s account recovery process instead. X account security subsequently implemented additional safeguards to prevent similar social engineering attempts targeting support staff.
