US Military Escorts Oil and Gas Through Hormuz as 13 Million BPD Leaves Gulf

businessenergy-marketsoilpoliticsmaritimeworldiran 193 posts · 58 accounts

The US military is escorting oil and gas shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, and 13 million b/d of oil left the Gulf region over the past week, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said.

Earlier on Wednesday, CENTCOM said commercial vessels continue to use the strait with US military support and that US forces have helped about 1,000 vessels carrying 500 million barrels of crude pass through the waterway since early May. Wright also said the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is a long way from its operational minimum.
