Taiwan Prosecutors Detain Nvidia Employee in AI Chip Smuggling Probe
Taiwanese prosecutors have detained an Nvidia employee and searched the company’s offices as part of a widening probe into the alleged smuggling of artificial intelligence accelerators into China.
The action marks the first direct enforcement measure against a worker at the chipmaker. Separately, investigators also detained a different suspect in a related case concerning alleged export violations by Super Micro involving AI servers shipped to the market.
