Bitcoin ETFs Post $464 Million Weekly Outflow as BlackRock's IBIT Sheds $415 Million; Ethereum ETFs Record $38 Million in Inflows
Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a net outflow of $464 million over the seven-day period ending July 29, reversing the inflow trends seen in the prior week. The decline was driven primarily by BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which sold $415 million in net assets on July 23 and 24, marking a sharp pivot where the dominant institutional allocator reduced positions while smaller vehicles continued buying.
Ethereum spot ETFs posted a contrasting performance, recording a net inflow of $38.5 million and 20,277 ETH over the same seven days, extending a streak of weekly inflows to three consecutive sessions. Data indicates a rotation within BlackRock's client base, with the same group selling approximately $60 million of the Bitcoin ETF while purchasing more than $20 million of Ethereum products during the week. Bitcoin prices fell 2.6% to $64,352 by the end of the update, while Ethereum declined 0.9%.
